Lincoln Cent 1955/5 or ordinary error?

Hello!

I found a 1955 lincoln cent with a funny looking last 5. It looks double to me. Is this just some kind of ordinary error or a valid type of double die? I suspect the former as the other digits would also be doubled or equally funny looking.

What do you think?

Those were known as the "poor man's doubled die". Just die erosion. But an interesting effect, for sure.

This variety was wildly over hyped in the 50s and 60s as the "poor man's doubled die". It has no value over any other 1950s era Lincoln cent in the same condition.

Perfect, thanks! I learned something new today. Many hours left to learn more. I found this on the top of a roll of pennies labeled "Freak Cents". So, I might have more freaky specimens to share depending on what I find.
