I am talking about the ones manufactured in Idaho USA

Here for those like me that had no idea here is AI's answer:

Mylar SAFLIPS, when used for storing coins, can last for a minimum of 20 years and potentially much longer, though they may become brittle and need replacement over time according to a Reddit thread. While Mylar is generally considered a good archival material, the lifespan can be affected by factors like storage conditions and the quality of the Mylar itself. Some collectors report that SAFLIPS become brittle and break after a couple of decades, requiring replacement.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:

General Lifespan:

Mylar is known for its archival qualities, making it suitable for long-term storage of items like coins.

Potential Issues:

Some users have reported that SAFLIPS can become brittle and crack along the fold after a period of time, even when stored in climate-controlled environments according to a Reddit thread.

Factors Affecting Lifespan:

Storage conditions, such as temperature and humidity, and the specific quality of the Mylar material can influence how long SAFLIPS last.

Replacement Recommendation:

Because of the potential for brittleness, collectors may need to replace SAFLIPS every 15-20 years or even sooner depending on the specific circumstances.

I just transferred the majority of my collection in Mylar Saflips today. They use to be in cardboard Mylar's. Happy it is done. Now just need to do it when a new purchase arrives and keep it all in order since it took me a few hours today.

Mylar should be considered permanent, except for any wear and tear from repeated handling, or damage.
