1929 Lundy 1/2 Puffin found in stamp collection -

I found a stamp collection today in my town dump's swap shop. There were a ton of stamps, but when I was going through the third large box my wife noticed a coin tucked in there. It was a 1929 1/2 Puffin. I'd never heard of it but there it was stapled in a flip in quite good condition. As for the stamps I'm totally overwhelmed. Hundreds of unused stamps, duck stamps, even a bear stamp card! Just weird and good fun looking at all those things. I can mail anything I want for a while if I don't mind using 3 cent to 10 cent stamps. I'm gonna do it with all my bills that I still mail. Well the 1/2 Puffin is pretty cool and I'm guessing a lot of you over here in the World & Ancients forum may be aware of it.

That is a fun find! I have one myself because I collect non-eagle birds in numismatics, including Puffins.

The story of Lundy Island, Martin C. Harman, the 1/2 and 1 Puffin coins, and Lundy stamps is very interesting.
I always liked 'em.
Fun little coin. Once sold a puffin to a guy that walked into a LCS wearing a shirt with a puffin on it.
