1926 philatelic exhibition sheet - collection find question

Hello - I was at my town dump today and at the Swap Shop someone had left three 12x12 boxes of a stamp collection from the 1920 to the 1980s. Many foreign along with USA. I have no experience with stamps as I collect coins, so probably the usual question here, what to do with it. On the coin side there was one coin, a 1929 1/2 Lundy Puffin. An oddity there! Anyways - there are a lot of small denomination unused stamps along with a few 10 cent and above. I attached photos of one of the more interesting pieces. Another question is what is it with the red 6 cent airmail stamps? I see some listed and sold on ebay in the hundreds then others for a fraction of that. Well hello from the coin world!!

That souvenir sheet is Scott 630, selling for at least $100. 1929 half puffin have some value too.
The souvenir sheet is a great find, although the tape doesn't help its value.
Your local public library may have a copies of a recent Scott stamp catalogs. Try looking up what you have using those.
Any Zepplins in the album?
I've been using google image search. Does a fairly good job so far but will check our library this week.
Thanks,
Jim
None yet - I'll be sure and check for those.

The page on which your souvenir sheet is mounted was clearly part of a carefully hand made stamp album. Stamp albums like that often contain much better stamps than normal. Check them carefully.
Here are three other pages that are in a binder from one of the boxes. These were the only other pages in a similar format. Let me know if you see anything there that I should be aware of.
Thanks,
Jim
The stamps on the additional pages you show are a full set of the 1940 Famous Americans issue. They are not particularly valuable but appear to be very nice examples of the stamps, though they are hinged. Hinging does reduce the value as the current stamp market wants never hinged stamps.
I see what you mean, just out of curiosity I checked Ebay for the 1940 Famous Americans Issue and found the whole run from 1940 - 1970 in blocks sold for $96. That is quite an amazing display of stamp history someone got.

Face value of 1940-1970 plate block stamps would be a lot higher than $96.
Apart from value, it’s amazing the topics on old stamps. Compare them with today’s topics of movie stars and looney tunes.
Too true - I like the looks of this one scheduled though.
