Good day, i found a strange 1979D lincoln 1 cent about 3 days ago from old coins put in a leather purse. Attached is a photo of the coin. Any helpful info on this coin is well appreciated. God bless!

Welcome to the forum. If you are talking about the circular damage on the obverse, that is from a coin rolling machine, sometimes the end coin in a roll gets damaged like this.
