1839/6 Coronet Head Large Cent: GTG...
resized.jpg)
Just got this Newp in today. There are a few scuff marks on the plastic so I'm not sure I'll be able to do any better than the seller's images.... and I still need to switch lenses back to 100mm... so... Here is the LAST piece for my Middle Dates. I might go back and fill in a few of the Redbook Varieties, but I'm in no hurry and I'm focussing on my Box of 20 instead...

Based on the other guesses I'm a bit embarrassed to toss out a VG8
15 is my guess. Here’s my 35:
I only do that for grade comparison. For me it was crucial to get the full split plain cords, undeniably the head of 1836. Even though the reverse is unseen prior to 1839, I still find it plausible that this obverse die was prepared in 1836, and is actually an inverted 6 over upright 6. Who can say? This would imply that the die was blundered and saved. Regardless of what actually happened, which no one could reasonably know, it remains (for me) one of the most interesting and enigmatic issues in the middle date range.
Great Coin! 👍🏻

...and a Winner! but get to keep the coin!!
edit to add... Apologies for the crumby lighting... seller's images hint at woodgrain toning but coin in hand is far, far better...

I already know, so not fair for me to guess, but I’ll just state that it’s a wholesome example of a tough coin!
A short GTG... I would have guessed VG10 as well.

Was thinking VG/F; thanks for sharing.
Same here.
This gtg under 60 minutes is just way too long. You gotta try for under 30 minutes next time. 😏🙄
