Ok, what exactly is that image?

It's missing "T.C.G. PRINTED IN U.S.A" in the upper right hand corner of the back of the card so I know it can't be "real".
  • Gemmint - I'm amazed that you, of all people, aren't aware of the missing #61 card of the Giants set. I thought everyone who collected this set had this card.

  • Yeah, good "editorial" content.
Why do I get the feeling, that some cards are worth money, while others are not?

Beckett Vintage magazine does have some nice features, advertising, and general information.

A while back I posted that they showed a high-end pop report for the top 15 cards from the 1957 BB set. What I really liked and thought was impartial, is they used data from all of the big 3 grading companies. I would think a true population might include some cards properly graded by other than PSA. We mostly agree PSA is the most consistently accurate grader doing vintage, but isn't anybody other than me interested in a larger census of the 9s in circulation ?image

Frankly, not really. Many of the 1950s collectors have tried (often unsuccessfully) to transfer 9s from other companies into PSA holders. Results are spotty at best. SGC's population numbers are interesting -- but it frankly seems like many of the better cards don't make their way into SGC holders. For example -- consider that SGC has not graded any Nolan Ryan rookies MINT 9 yet, whereas PSA has quite a few and Beckett has graded some, too. You could argue that SGC is tougher -- but as mentioned before, SGC doesn't often grade over well to PSA. Furthrmore, BVG has two problems: 1) It grades on a sliding scale. (Different standards than BGS!!), and 2) There is a stigma associated with Beckett of grading trimmed cards.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    SORRY! I misplaced it...
Ok, this was an insert card in the latest beckett VINTAGE magazine
and it did make the card the right size and made it look really good!
(but it is on paper, so only AAA would grade it!)
