There is a new coin show to check out in NYC, tomorrow (May 31 from 10 am to 5pm)

It’s the Latin American Coin Show at the Martinique Hotel, 49 west 32nd Street in Manhattan, very close to Penn station.
Admission is $10 and there will be 14 or 15 dealers. I spoke with the promoter who said that there will also be US and Canadian coins and paper money.
This is the first time they are doing this show but it may be worth checking out, especially since there are so few coin shows in Manhattan these days.

I’ll give my report after the show
Hi Folks, a few posted excellent reports on the show in the World coin forum and I refer everyone to see the posts. But I have to say that it was an enjoyable show where I met some nice knowledgeable numismatists. Material was interesting, mostly not high end, but worth looking at on a Saturday in the city. It was very convenient to get there if you use trains near Penn Station and the hotel had great coffee in the lobby area. I purchases 4 vg walking lib halves, 2x 20-s, a 23-s and a 27-s along with a pretty 25 Mexican centavos from 1888. They had a fun raffle and it added some energy to the place. I would certainly hope that they do better promotion of the show for next time to give more people the opportunity to check it out. Overall I’m very happy that I attended.
