Large Motto 1864 Proof 2C Dies
There were only 100 large motto 1864 proof two cents minted. As far as I can tell, only one obverse die was used. I am trying to match up the obverse die from the below coin in an NGC holder to other LM 1864 proofs. The die appears to be very close, but different from all the others I have seen. Do you think the obverse die is the same or different from other proof examples? Does anyone know if more than one obverse die was used to strike LM 1864 proof two cents?
Here is a close up of the date with a proof from coinfacts on top and the NGC coin below.

I would question if the NGC coin is actually a proof. The pics you posted do not match from what I can see. Also the NGC 1 of the date looks RPD. The 8s look to have a different shape.

The date position of the Coinfacts coin is further left than the NGC coin.
Agreed with all of the above. I’m not seeing a match for the Proof dies.
It's in an EdgeView holder - any indications there of a specially prepared flan?

YES
Thanks for the input everyone. It would seem based on the comparisons that this is probably not a proof coin. Unfortunately I stumbled across it the day the auction was ending. Not a big money coin, but someone likely overpaid.
