Some pocket-sized albums to show (long post w/ photos)

The_Dinosaur_ManThe_Dinosaur_Man Posts: 1,089 ✭✭✭✭✭

I made a small batch of pocket-sized albums while awaiting materials for a larger project and thought you folks would appreciate them.

First up is a group shot:

Next up is the Two Cent album. It is two pages with six coins per page running 1864 to 1872:

Third is the Twenty Cent piece album. This one covers the four dates of 1875, 1875-CC, 1875-S, and 1876, which are common enough for anyone to collect. I designed a six coin album with two extra ports for the two 1875-S MPD varieties, and a seven coin album with the recently listed 1876 variety. I am most excited to show this set because it hasn't been offered any other way on its own as far as I know.

Fourth is the Classic Head Quarter Eagle album, a simple date set for the six common Philadelphia issues. Should someone want this expanded to include the tougher dates or the Charlotte and Dahlonega coins, I'll happily accommodate them.

Fifth is the Classic Head Half Eagle album, similar to the Quarter Eagle album but only has five common dates.

Next up is a combination album of smaller Canada provinces: Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. Working with @JoeLewis last year inspired this set.

Newfoundland Small Cents is a personal album, however at my last show a young numismatist was interested in the album and I'll likely sell it to him:

Newfoundland Two Dollars came about from a couple of different projects and I was only able to start it after photographing a piece held by my old LCS:

And lastly, this one is for @MFeld for posting a thread about individual years special to each of us. I longed to make a dedicated album for my growing 1891 set. It is four pages and contains all regular business strike issues, including gold:

These are so cool! I realize you wrote that they are pocket-sized. However, the stand-alone images didn't give the full affect of the size until you showed your hand holding one and then it was like "wow, you either have a giant hand or those books really are tiny..."!

Two words that quickly came to mind were already posted but I’ll say them anyway.

Nice! Do you make one for each year?

Love the Newfoundland coins. It has a small cult following here. Anyway, love the albums

I can! I've only done a few specific years so far for friends and family and would love to do more.

Your albums look fantastic! I think a Morgan Dollar mint set in the tiny album format would be really cool-

    Amazing

Are you going to start a business selling those?

I offer a few on the website in my forum signature. While I don't have the pocket sized albums on there yet, I do have a section of templates where you can pick and choose dates for any album listed there. Anything not yet listed can be requested through the contact form.

Just to elaborate on the idea with an example, say you're building a set of gold dollars and want to include the commemoratives. You can choose to have labeled ports for each one. You can likewise omit dates you don't expect to collect or have a set catered to a specific mint like San Francisco or Dahlonega.
