I’ve seen plenty of coins where holes have been drilled in them to be worn as necklaces, but for some reason this one looks like it was stamped, hoping for some opinions

Clearly damaged post Mint and not an error.
Has to be damage, no way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.
Thanks for the insight, I’ve seen plenty of drilled coins, the ridge around the hole was throwing me off
It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin and there is no way for a hole to occur at that time.
Anything that happens to a coin after it is ejected from the striking chamber is classified as damage.
Also there is no way for a coin struck while seated in the collar to not be perfectly round.

ever use a drill?
I’ve used plenty of drills, never needed to drill a coin
