what is a PSA 10 edge in 1981-1983 topps?

Hi there - I saw this thread and figured I'd ask the question I've been trying to answer for ages. I find whenever I look closely, especially with a loupe, at a 1981, 1982 or 1983 topps psa 10, the edges are often meaningfully beat up. I know they aren't meant to be perfect to qualify for a 10, but I'm curious if anyone has come to understand what the standard is for a PSA 10 edge in these sets that notoriously chip? Many thanks in advance!

pre 2022 what you say is the norm, since then its a very rare occurrence and likley will not occur for just anyone.
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
