strike issues on a 2005 Kansas quarter

This is the front end of a quarter I received as change the other day, after researching and nearly being ripped off at a collectors shop, I decided to bring this here and ask about these issues on this coin

There was never any chance of you being ripped off on that coin. Your damaged quarter is worth 25 cents and no one at a shop would have offered to buy it.

The offer was a lot more, they verified that it is a strike error but then made an offer, wouldn't give me anymore info.

What kind of "collector's shop" was it? I hope it wasn't a coin shop because they have no idea what they're talking about.

Let me know where they're located so i can sell them all my damaged coins.

I don't know about better or less fuzzy, but front and rear of the coin!

It's a shop I thought knew some things about collections where I sold several coin collections through them about 15 years ago. I won't be going to them or putting their name on any feeds.

Okay, for those just arriving, this coin has no fire damage, that has been verified, I'm curious about the strike errors on the front and rear of the coin. Which are plainly obvious. If you don't know what you're looking at, don't comment, you're the reason we never go to collection shops

Well, if you've read the post, I already had it looked at by a collector he helped verify the strike issues using the lettering and the area being referred to as fire damage is the same on the front and back indicating the planchet had either not fully discharged a previous stamping or further issues with the in use die. He made a ridiculous offer, which was far higher than it's value, but also was a low ball as far as coins of this nature, I've been researching coins for 20 years, not the first one I've seen like this, but needing a feel for the market.

To see who knows what they're talking about. Some of y'all don't, I've done some trading, I've done more comics and memorabilia, never coins, I know what Ive been taught, and I learn more all the time, like I know getting it graded, could be worth it. But who want to put that kind of money in something without understanding the market for the coin. I can tell you that I've seen no other Kansas coin with this many issues front or back.

what type of error did the collector say? feeder finger damage? double struck? shows brockage?

what was the term the collector verified it to be?

You should contact Dunning Kruger Rare Coins. They handle these types of errors.

Before it goes any further, just do a google image search for heat damaged clad coin. You'll see dozens that match yours perfectly. There is absolutely nothing in the minting process that could result in this.

We have seen dozens of these on this and other coin forums. It is known as a “Campfire Coin”.
Go back to the dealer and if he offers you more than 25 cents, take the money and run.
