Kennedys from the Tooth Fairy—An Appreciation of LeeBone

Last month my daughter got her first loose tooth. I don’t know if she’ll ever take up coin collecting, but as of now she really like coins as objects; she’s constantly trying to charm loose change from her grandparents.

So I thought it would be fun if the Tooth Fairy left her a couple half dollars. Something a little out of the ordinary, and I thought she’d be impressed by the size of them since they’re so much larger than any coins she’s handled before.

The rub was, I didn’t have any half dollars on hand. So posted on BST forum offering to pay double face for a pair of Kennedys. In stepped @LeeBone, offering to send me not two, but four halves at no charge. I wanted to at the very least pay the postage, but he wasn’t having it. So thanks to LeeBone’s generosity, the Tooth Fairy was able to pay out in Kennedys last night when that loose tooth finally popped out.

That's awesome! I did a similar thing with the Tooth Fairy for my kids... silver was only ~$6-7/oz at the time though! ;-)

Very nice of @LeeBone . You do realize that your local bank probably has more Kennedy halves than they know what to do with.

I’m just glad to have helped out. Having two daughters of my own I know how much it means. I miss those times when little things meant a lot.

I checked, but my credit union said they didn’t have any.

Lol, it’s so true. I was kind of shocked to find out a dollar is the going rate. She and her cousins have text strings (through their parents, of course) comparing their tooth loot.
