On Wednesday my eagerly awaited new type set albums arrived. Big thank you to to David, goes by the_dinosaur_man on the forums
For many years I have been frustrated with type set albums. I have always wished that coins could be placed together by era issued and would like to include gold. A few months ago I saw a post by David on the forum about his custom gold books. This gave me an idea that finally I could have my dream type set books made. Me being old school started drawing them on paper and sending David many messages. He quickly started forming my ideas into the awsome book.
I would consider this sort of a pattern a few things I would change in future models, particularly the final page of the 2nd album. Have some good ideas for the final page
The goal of this book was to capture most of the rebook varieties and to put them with the coinage they would have been most current with. A few types lile 3 cent silvers kind of were forced into a single era
Today I went to central states and had an awsome day chasing a bunch of these holes. With a little more time i likely could have completed it. I still have to finish plugging some coins in, esp the second album but have to dig through my collection to find the right pieces
The goal of the set for the silver is to find really nice vg-ef for the older coins. For the more recent eras I will do AU/unc. I plan. To keep all the coins from each era in similar grade. For the gold i have been less picky but the goal being not to have to crack too many out of holders. The 3 dollar came out of a pcgs cleaned holder but looks great in the album
All the dealers that i showed this to were really intrigued. Some even asking how they could get something like.

I will say the construction of these albums are amazing. I really beat these books up today and they look as good as when I started

For the second book I started with some redundancy of gold. I did this to cover thr type 3 20 dollar. I plan to put all 20th century dates on this page.

My favorite find at today's show were the trade dollar and seated dollar which were together at a dealers table.

As I said I would call this first one a pattern. How would you guys change this set. Open to ideas

David, The Dinosaur Man, does great work. He made me some custom album pages that I haven’t had a chance to show off yet. All of the albums he makes are awesome, so professionally done, a true craftsman.

Nice vintage influence based on the Library of Coins Albums. I like the shift in the organization of the coins based on their era. Nice project and provides hope for those working on or even contemplating a type set. Well done
