NGC Labels REALLY Off

Won a lot from Heritage, of three medals. All three descriptions off. A Swiss medal attributed to Lossier. Not entirely off, but probably should have read Bovy. A French medal attributed to Degeorde. It's Degeorge. Worst of all was a French medal described as a German medal. Medallist was Galle. Legend was French. Medal honored a prominent British politician. HTF is this German?

The French medal described as German… when was it struck and what is the subject matter?

    Just curious

Struck in 1827. Commemorates the death of George Canning.
The only connection I see to Germany is that it is listed (#1190), in the Katalog Meiner Sammlung von Medaillen, Plaketten und Jetons, prepared by Dr. Wolfgang R. v. Wurzbach-Tannenberg.
And, by the way, he was Austrian.

I suppose that is a bridge too far… still hope the medals are of interest.

Oh, yes. Still, they were part of a lot, and I only wanted the Swiss medal. The other two are cool, though.

Pictures? I like medals, they are often much more detailed than coins.
