Could someone tell me if this 1984 dime's planchet alloy's were intact when struck ?

in Q & A Forum
.
Weight is within the accepted margins at 2.2 g.
Given in pocket change.
Did the paint rub off ? LOL, what ?
Rim and reed damage as photo's show, with over 80% obverse side, and just one spot appox. 20 % on it's reverse.
Dryer ? Na. Too much of an uneven start.
I'm sticking to just this one question. "Were the alloys intact when struck, or did something not accepted within normal margins came into play ?

Thanks

I would call them layers, not alloys, but in any case of course they were "intact when struck". If the weren't, how would they be intact now?
You haven't shown the whole coin but it looks like a dryer or spoonsd coin.
Without a full photo, it is hard to say but from what I can see,
there is at least some damage on your dime.
Also a dime is not made from an alloy, it is made from a copper
core, which you can see, clad with a layer of copper and nickel.
I've gotten this stuff in my change before, but I've attributed it to PMD.

The full picture indicates that it is just PMD.An error
would not affect the rim like that.
Swell.
