ebay Authenticity Guarantee passed a reprint as original

Hi Gang:
Anyone ever have a card that went through the ebay Authenticity Guarantee where they made an error?
Without getting into the specifics for now, I won a card and it went through the Authenticity Guarantee process and it passed.
When I received the card it was an obvious fake where a reprint card was used and either a fake back or an original back was used for the reverse.
I called ebay and was told the rules of the guarantee for trading cards is I have three days after receipt to contact them with concerns. For various reasons it is past the three days
My question is has anyone had a situation where the ebay Authenticity Guarantee was wrong? If so how did you proceed.
Seems to me if they make an error and it can been proved/shown to them they should honor a refund.
I am currently in a holding pattern while ebay examines whether they should give me a "courtesy refund"
The seller had "final sale" in red in the listing. Interesting that his other listing just says "Seller does not accept returns"
Wanted to go through ebay before contacting the seller

is the card graded?
No, but the listing said the card was from 1948 while it was a reprint from 1977!
IMHO get on the line with your Credit Card Issuier. Open a dispute for a charge back. If it's a large entity like Cap One or Chase also go the Fraud route. Especially if the latter issuier as they can be pretty vicious to merchants including eBay. Not to say they will of course but I've heard stories that are positive

Can you post a photo of the card in question?
I agree with 82FootballWaxMeorys' post about contacting your credit card company eventually, but if eBay is currently working on this or a "case" has been started with eBay, if they find out you have also opened a case with your credit card then eBay will simply drop your case with them (I learned this from personal experience). So, basically, if eBay is working with you, see how that plays out first.
If eBay ultimately does not offer any help, then I would recommend contacting the credit card issuer (you should have 90 days with them after the sale date to open a claim so do not go past that time frame). Good luck!

My son ordered a card from eBay...seller showed photo of a legit card and it went to eBay authentication.
My son received a giant card Instead. eBay passed it. He called eBay and spoke with the guy that passed it. After explaining the card shown was in a one touch holder and regular size...the card received was a giant card that won't fit into any holder...eBay guy said..oh ok...my bad. Keep the card and here's a refund. "Sorry I messed up".
