EXTREMELY RARE SET of 2 x CUSTOM Dansco Mexico Type Albums: Centavo & Peso Coins - Vol 1 & 2 + Republic of Mexico Gold Page

This is a very special auction for Mexican coin collectors. The Dansco #7220 is the standard Mexico Type Set album. Ken Tabachnick, a U.S. Mexican Numismatic Association member and longtime Mexican coin & currency dealer, noticed that the standard #7220 only ran up to the late 1960s. He had Dansco custom-make these Centavo and Peso-type set albums to cover coins up to the 1990s. Ken sold these albums from his table at the Long Beach Expo in Southern California. It is not known if he sold these elsewhere. Sadly, he passed away in 2022.

These Centavo and Peso type set albums are more exhaustive and hold more coins than the standard #7220. These two albums are the equivalent of an updated #7220 Mexico Type Set album. This is the only time I have seen Dansco create a custom album for one of their existing foreign-type albums.

This is a must-have if you enjoy collecting Mexican coins in Dansco albums!

The Republic of Mexico Gold Type Page for #7220: Mexico Type album is a very special Gold page. The Dansco Corporation had a limited run of Mexico Type albums from the 1960s to the 1980s. Due to collector demand, Dansco printed an even more limited number of Mexico Gold Type Pages.

Item Condition: Albums

  • It is phenomenally rare to find a Dansco foreign album that is still sealed after decades, much less a custom foreign album. The Centavo Type album contains four pages. I included example photos of what the inside looks like. It holds four pages covering coins from 1905 to 1983. You will receive a sealed album.

  • The peso-type album has previously been used but is in like-new condition. It holds 5 pages covering coins from 19010 to 1989. There are no tears, writing, or damage in or around the album.

  • All plastic slides included

Item Condition: Mexico Gold Page

  • The page has been previously used is in fair to good condition.

  • There are light page stains from this page being pressed into other pages from being in an album for 40+ years.

  • There are no tears or writing.

  • I replaced all of the plastic slides with new slides I acquired from my visit to Dansco's offices in March.

  • No coins are included.
