"Carved" counterfeit Trade for sale in a major auction house- sign of the times...

I was actually surprised to see this one initially:
Apparently correctly identified as it did not start as a genuine Trade Dollar host.
Spending some time "dumpster diving" to try to find another yielded the apparent same "coin" in an icollector auction back in 2012 were it is noted as selling for $210.00 !
I guess it's not "counterfeit" if it is noted it is...

I also wouldn't call that a "potty" - it's not a chamber pot nor a toilet.
Way too kitschy. No thanks. Kinda weird that it made it into a major auction catalogue.

There are YouTube videos saying 1798 trade dollars are worth millions
It appears to me the previous item auctioned 13 years ago is actually the same item.
I have seen modern 'hobo' Morgan dollars that are actually struck from 'hobo' dies.
One possibility is the consigner sent a bunch of really top-notch coins in for listings and this one was included.

That's a new variety, it's the "Chalice Dollar".
