NGC Gem uncirculated help with what it means.

JBrulesJBrules Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭✭✭

New to coin collecting and wanted to know what an NGC Gem uncirculated Silver Eagle First Strike approximate value. I have been looking up the grades MS 60-70. Does NGC Gem equal MS 70 or is it possibly a lower grade such as MS 68 or 69. Appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

Gem Uncirculated is a cheaper way that bulk submissions get graded. The coin could be graded anywhere from 65-68. If it was a 69 or a 70 the grading company would have labeled it as such for the submitter to be able to sell it for a higher price.

Usually GEM means 65. Value will depend on what date it is.
