Post #999 - Happy Sunday, Happy Local Coin Show

Hey all,

After some three or four years on this forum, I'm finally getting up to my thousandth post. I didn't want to throw away the penultimate post, so...

For the last couple of years, I have been setting up at a local coin show. Typically 15 dealers in a gymnasium, a healthy mix of older coins, modern certified coins, some better dates, foreign coins, etc. It has grown in popularity recently.

My set up includes my homemade albums, camera stand, and a tablet for visitors to browse my website. This is how my table looked today:

I offer free photography at the show, and send the results via email afterwards.

The homemade albums are picking up quite nicely, with a few more orders coming in and a sale of a Seated Liberty Quarter album today. In the last month or so, I started making pocket-sized albums and had those on display too:

These have been great for Year Sets and some foreign sets. I also started to offer these albums in the native languages of the coins' home nation:

And lastly, I made be getting carried away with creating album templates, as you can see below:

Thanks for reading the post, I'll catch up with you guys with a giveaway on the next one.

Very nice job. Certainly different than a lot of dealers!

Well done. Albums are a great way to get collectors started in a new area.

    Nice, creative idea. Attractive, too.

I hope that you have Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels and State Quarters, too. We know that's where the kids start-from circulation at face value.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
