A rarely seen 1930 Buffalo DDO-002

There are 9 known 1930 DDO Buffalo nickels documented. Three of them are listed in The Cherrypickers guide. The DDO-002 for some reason is not one of them. Wexler calls it a "best of" variety. It is very similar to the 1915 DDO, FS-101. The eyelid is dramatically doubled as is the nostril. It receives little fanfare and few probably collect it. I was lucky enough to cherry pick this one recently. I took several pics at various magnifications. I would call it very scarce to rare. With little following it would carry a very small premium. To a Buffalo variety nut like me it's priceless! I thought I'd share it everyone. I doubt you will see another. Enjoy!

Good nostril shots. I like this piece. B)

Pretty coin, great pictures and another overlooked variety. One of my first 1930 DDO cherrypicks. Currently resides in an ANACS soapbox MS-64.

Proud recipient of the coveted "You Suck Award" (9/3/10).
