I haven't posted in a while, thought I would share this newp.

A few months ago I spotted this 1921 High Relief Peace on a Pawn shop website with awful photos in an NGC MS64 holder. But even with bad photos I could see it was probably a VAM 3 and the grade appeared to be fairly accurate. If I could just get them down a little it would be worth taking a chance on, which I was successful in doing.
And...
A few days ago I got the results from my crossover and they did confirm VAM 3 and it crossed straight. I'm not too much into VAMs but I like to try to notice them when I find them, especially the more distinctive ones like this one where the Line through the "L" in DOLLAR is re-engraved. These don't trade often enough to know if there's really any premium for the VAM, I'll wait until I sell it some day to find out but I thought it was a nice score to pick up at non-VAM pricing.

The Trueview leaves a lot to be desired though, nothing new there, but the coin does have some toning and coloration.
