Date restoration on Standing Liberty Quarter

I have a Standing Liberty Quarter with no stars on the reverse so I know the date is either 1916 or 1917. The problem is the date is unreadable and I was inquiring if there is anything anyone knows to restore the date on this coin.
I saw NIC A DATE RESTORER but it leads me to believe it is best to use it on Buffalo nickels.
Any ideas out there to guide me in the right direction?

I don't know about date restoration on silver but there are identifying characteristics besides the date to tell if it is 1916 or 1917. You can post clear pictures here and someone should be able to help.

That's a 1917 for sure. The giveaways on this one are the bold stars on the shield and the bold lines on the square below the shield.
