Shipping internationally

When you ship internationally via USPS, you must fill out some customs information. This includes a description of the contents of the package and its value. If the contents is a coin, what do you write on the customs form? Do you just use a generic word like "merchandise"? I assume you don't actually write "coin"?

I think the current rules are that you must be specific. You can try to be creative but I believe that the days of generic "merchandise" are over.

I had someone from UK put "metal discs" on the form.
