Half dollars that are Taped up

in Q & A Forum
I have another question.....
Good Friend of mine mother had taped each of the half dollars she had and he got them when she past on.
Is it best to leave the tape on?
What does WA mean on a coin?
1951 one looks doubled but not sure if it's because of the tape, That's the one I was wondering if it's best to try take the tape off.

@Turkeygrl67 Welcome. "AW" are the initials of Adolph Weinman on the Walking Liberty half.
Tape glue residue is bad. You may dissolve coin surface contaminants by soaking that Peace dollar in acetone. No guarantees, the tape impressions may have caused permanent damage.
Nada on the die doubling. Interested in learning? Go to error-ref.com for valuable numismatic knowledge. Good luck. Peace Roy

I was curious about the restoration from the PCGS would it be worth having them to remove the tape off all the the coins they have? They don't want to take any chances of ruining the coins by having someone from the coin shops to do it.
The two coins you show don't have enough value to bother having it professionally removed. It would cost more than the coins are worth. If there are rarer dates then that might be different. A careful soak in acetone won't hurt them.
