My deepest heartfelt loss of a great friend Dr. Steven Duckor.
I first introduced myself to Steve in 2003 when I had just started collecting Saints and I saw Steve’s Barber half collection on the registry. I was so amazed at the quality and the provenance of the coins he had in that collection that I found myself writing him a letter telling him how much I admired it. That was the beginning of a 20 year friendship. We bought and sold coins together. I helped him find coins and he helped me find coins, but most of all he shared his knowledge of every aspect of coin collecting. As a testament to his coin intellect, I described to him the 40 or so Saints that I owned. He congratulated me and in the same sentence said, sell them all and by 12 really great ones. I followed his word and it turned out to be the best decision I made while collecting. He introduced me to people like David Akers, Stuart Blay and Kevin Lipton among others. We were truly best friends and we were inseparable at the dozens of coin shows that we both attended. I owe so much of my success to Steve and I suppose this will be my tribute to him. Peace.

Jay, while it’s such a sad occasion, it’s nice to see you post here. I hope all else is well with you.

Thanks Mark! The same to you.
You have paid a very nice tribute Saintguru to a great numismatist. Everyone who has been around this hobby for any length of time should know the name Steve Duckor. I was once really active here on the boards as it was a great place to enjoy and learn about this hobby of coin collecting. I was away for several years and sold the majority of my coin collection during that time. Still own a few things as I don't think I will ever completely get out of the habit. I have been back lurking for a while now and manage a post from time to time but mainly just read what everyone else is posting here. I have been surprised at how many of the familiar names are no longer on the boards. No longer here as in either passed or just lost interest. While I have been back and logging onto the boards I am always happy to see old familiar faces posting once again if only a post here and there. I appreciated your post if only to acknowledge your sadness at the loss of your friend.
RIP Steve Duckor
Nice to see you stop by, Jay. Are you still active in coins, or on to other interests?
So sorry to hear your loss of a dear friend. I'm certain the memories of the years together will bring comfort during a difficult time.
My prayers and condolences 🙏
Sorry for your loss. Would have hoped to see you post more recently in better times!
