Anyone else holding on to gold to sell after $3000?

BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,460 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have some pre-33 ($10/$20) and some modern commems that are 1oz, that I am waiting until the $3000 mark. All are slabbed, premiums are low, but for some reason that $3000 mark just seems right...

Anyone else waiting?

    A marathon is 138,336 feet. You've run 136,260.
    Close enough?

I'm still holding most of my gold. Sold off a little back in Oct ($2650ish) to payoff the farm. Maybe should of kept holding but being 100% debt free was worth it and I don't regret it for a second. I don't plan to sell at $3K, will continue holding. RGDS!

P.S. For some reason many of us have ended up in jail. Perhaps the mods sold their gold for one of them Teslas? THKS!

I’m liking the $3,000 mark, but I’m holding my gold. No intentions of selling it. I sold most of my modern gold eagles and buffalos a few years ago to fund my daughters college tuition. Kept all of my pre-33 gold.

I am selling a huge chunk right now. I am not going to worry if it is over $3k, it is close enough. I am bullish on the economy so this is all going to QQQ. If we can cut $1T from the budget it will be big.

    Nope.
Why set a goal and then purposefully pull up short?

Greedy? Sure. But, I'm not in a hurry to sell, nor a need. Helping my aunt on some of these and her husband, RIP, had gotten ripped off on the prices. At $3000, it will be almost a breakeven on them, so, I set it as a goal.
She isn't in a hurry for the funds at this point either, so we are just waiting.

    I own this batch @$1300.

  • If you decide to sell and you are not in need of the money you need to have a plan. Think about what you are going to invest in that is better than physical gold. If your plan is to stick the money in the bank or get 4.5% on a CD I would rather hold the gold. I myself do buy and sell some gold but mainly I am stacking even at this price. I do believe gold will surpass the $3000 mark for you.
    Best of luck,
    Tim

I think $3K is a psychological wall at least for the short term. Everyone else is waiting for that as well. If you are considering selling and have a plan for the money, I'd sell now.

I’m holding and will continue to add whenever I see a great deal. If Bitcoin is worth $95,000 per coin then gold should be over $5000 per ounce (jmho). Need to get rid of paper metals and let supply and demand set prices. Will continue to hold.

When i go deer hunting my goal is to harvest a buck. Many times I pass up the shot as knowing I could have easily accomplished my goal is more fulfilling than actually doing so.

Or risk pulling a hammy. A man of confidence should never feel the need to prove something to himself.

I appreciate the comments and I notice how people really don't answer my simple question but, instead, like to give THEIR own opinions on what I should do :D

Very simply, I stated what I was doing and just asked if anyone else had the same mark. Well, I thought it was simple.
Instead, I get reasons to sell now, or keep longer, or blah blah blah.
I didn't ask those questions though. I am also very secure in my finances and knowledgeable enough to know how to handle any investment to best suit my needs and not sit in a 1% bank account. Hell, most of the gold I'll be selling I had already stated who it belonged to (my aunt) and why I like that target mark for her. She is also to the point where she can decide how best to use the funds.

Anyways, it's always interesting when posting stuff here, still, I guess

Same. No inclination whatsoever to sell.
