Artifact: Coin or Gaming Token?

Does this artifact look familiar? An image search did not turn up a match, so I'm turning to the artifact experts. Smaller than a US dime and very thin. The reverse is a reflection of the obverse. Looks like copper, but chings like silver.

Thanks for any guidance you can provide, including pointers to where I should look...

    It's not a coin.

It's not a "gaming token" either; it's not round enough for an amusement or arcade token.

I'm not entirely convinced it's even numismatic in origin, though the design is clearly supposed to be coin-like (specifically, a Mercury dime). The indented rim around the outside makes me think it was mounted into some kind of jewellery-piece, so I suspect it's a made-for-jewellery medallion.

Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

    Yes, a decorative item.

Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
  • When I said "gaming token", I really meant board game token (or counter perhaps) rather than casino token. I found it in my collection in a old box of loose foreign coins. So far, it sure seems like decorative is the best bet. Thanks for everyone's input.

Low quality decorative item. If it is uniface it was probably once stuck to a piece of furniture.
