Gretzky and Jordan rookie

I have two Topps Gretzky Topps rookies and one Jordan Fleer 1986 rookie. Thinking of getting them graded to sell, but not sure if it is best to go with PSA or another company. Any thoughts or advice? Just looking to get the best price as I am definitely selling them and I know there are a lot of opinions out there about grading.....PSA, CGC, Beckett, etc.

PSA
PSA if selling, SGC if keeping
CGC is a junk slabber avoid at all costs.
Beckett is a huge negative even if they are better than CGC

I wish there were more options, but the guys are correct. Be prepared to have PSA undergrade your cards, take longer than promised and probably damage at least 1 of your cards in the process. Take some really high resolution scans of your cards just in case. Hard to believe they're still the industry "leader".

Wow...PSA must have really improved the last few months.

Agree with posts. For iconic, high dollar cards like those, sometimes the PSA-SGC gap in value isn't huge. Check the latest VCP prices to see if the differences for a particular grade are significant. For example, the average VCP price for the Jordan rookie in a PSA 7 is $5019, the SGC is $4339. As mentioned earlier, its likely SGC will assign a slightly higher grade. An SGC 7.5 or 8 puts it at $4800-$6000. If you are in a hurry to sell, consider SGC (turnaround is 2-3 weeks vs. 3-4 months).
Good luck, you can't go wrong either way! Let us know how it pans out.

for cards with high pop's sgc and psa are about the same most of the time. The lower the pop's PSA starts trending higher for the same grade or even if SGC is .5 ahead. But I doubt you would get the same grade from both. Lately it just hit or miss. I think OPC Tom said it best, you just keep submitting until you finally get the right grader.
