LBJ still throwing down triple doubles

The GOAT debate is over 'cept for the most stubborn boomer and Xer holdouts
I saw old man Jordan on the Wizards, LBJ still throwing down triple doubles
Read that earlier today. Perhaps "GOAT" has become an overused term which is rendered more and more meaningless with every use?
Also why must it be Greatest of All-Time and not Greatest of their Era (GOTE)... Russell, Wilt, Magic, Bird, MJ, Lebron there is a place for all of them. IMHO those who seek only "GOAT" are not true fans of the game.

GOATEE - Greatest Of All Time Eminence Era
Farewell Ryno.
he has been dead for nearly 60 years
Jokic just turned 30 yesterday. Said his birthday wish is to pass his teammate Russ Westbrook and remind him every day that he broke his record. LeBron 64 triple doubles behind Russ.
Lebron's reaching 50k points did not seem to get much coverage in the media.

Sometimes I think hosts and shows are afraid they'll taint the legacy of Jordan if they report too much about what Lebron is doing in the twilight of his career. That's silly, really. Both players are so special that there's plenty of room at the top for each. Everyone just needs to stop comparing them to each other and just relish the accomplishments they've made.
Think about it, why would talking about Lebron's achievements lessen anything about how Jordan changed the NBA in the 1990's?? JMHO, of course.

I don't think many people disliked Jordan but Lebron I would guess it maybe 50/50. There is way too much drama from Lebron. I am a life long Laker fan but not a Lebron fan. I have not watched a Laker game since he became a Laker.
What drama and why would you focus on that in light of what he has done as a role model and from a charitable standpoint?? Are you even aware of that stuff, or is all you see is him flopping or saying something stupid??
Do a search on the IPS in Akron.

getting his kid drafted when he cant even play is not being a role model
I highly doubt that the lack of media coverage over Lebron reaching 50k points scored had anything to do with Michael Jordan and his success back in the 90's. Its been well over 20 years since he last played an NBA game and outside of that year not to long ago where the Last Dance Bulls documentary got released and then again when he sold off his stake in the Hornets franchise, Jordan has pretty much been out of the NBA limelight for a very long time.
If we're really looking for an answer as to why the sports media world didn't all fawn over it like ESPN does every time his name gets mentioned, then we should be looking directly at Lebron for it. How he finagled the Lakers into drafting his son, when he was an extremely underwhelming draft prospect to begin with, really rubbed many people, both in and out of the sports world, the wrong way. He put a huge target on his son's back which led to endless criticism by all of the talking heads in the media, which ultimately led to an interaction with Stephen A. Smith last week where Lebron confronted him on the court after a recent game over a SaS remark that Lebron took out of context.
That incident instantly became the story and not Lebron's newest milestone (which was a record that he already broke 2+plus years ago.)

I just checked the Lakers schedule and that Stephen A. incident happened on 3/6 in NY, two nights after Lebron reached 50k during his game against the Pelicans on 3/4. After that Pels game, I know that he received plenty of praise from ESPN over the next 24hrs and the only logical reason why it probably didn't last longer in the following sports world news cycle was, in all likelihood, because of Lebron's confrontation with SaS soon after. 🤷♂️

Card wise I can sell Jordans with ease. Lebron's, not so much.
Lebron is more for China than America . Lebron has stirred up a lot of race remarks at very bad times. He gets outraged when a black gets killed by police but has no problem when they kill each other .I believe Lebron made a comment or comments that endangered the lives of police. I think Shaq may have called him out on this.
The flopping and traveling and the stupid talk is much to frequent .
I apologize if I got anything wrong as my memory is not as good as it once was.
@pdoidoi
FWIW, I'd only add that Lebron should have a legit vested interest with regards to China when his billion dollar Nike empire relies heavily on the sneakers that get shipped out of there. I don't know the exact total sales history of Nike Lebron's that have ever been sold but IIRC Nike signed him just before he got drafted and that happened all the way back in 2003, that's a lot of freaking sneakers.
As for any views on how he reacts to racism, an argument could be made where we should be commending him for speaking up at times like he has. As a black athlete who's a household name to million all across the world, there probably isn't another voice that could speak louder than his in those situations. That's just how I view it. 🤷♂️

It would be a great thing if he spoke up for all and did not try to call out others like Al Sharpton.
Do it for the cause and not for the money and attention for themselves. There are many athletes and stars that do for the community without stirring up things.
I honestly don't care to dig into any details or specific instances and in regards to the rest of your comment, Find me someone that has the public notoriety on a similar level as Lebron who doesn't have a financial investment in everything that they say & do (and we all know that it goes well beyond just athletes & stars but we won't go down that path here.)
Lebron's history of helping his community is well documented so I don't know how speaking up for said community would/should be considered stirring up things.
