Let's try this a slightly different way. For the below coin, please let us know the following:
1) What price do you personally place on this coin?
2) What price would you expect it to sell at?

I have several photos of the coin from different photographers.
Note that the cert number has been hidden in order to avoid any bias but the grade and CAC sticker are disclosed.

To the right buyer, trends plus. To a dealer, -10% greysheet. This has been my experience when trying to sell to a dealer. Even with a better average eye appeal, the best offer i have received from a dealer is -10% of greysheet since they are taking all the risk. Then I see it on their website for full retail + for eye appeal.

    Nice Morgan btw!

I would pay $500. But I would expect it to sell for $2000.

    1) Nice looking coin. I would expect at least 20% over guide.
    2) Put it up at auction. I would hope for 50% over guide.

I’ve always been cheap when it comes to toned coins, everything I have, I got for the normal coin price, with the exception of paying slightly over for my reverse crescent toner from 1886, I believe Gray sheet was around 140? I offered 200 and got it…
I will admit I would pay up on that one probably nothing like some people, but definitely far above price guide!

    That’s a beauty!

    Nice coin really like it.

Target Price on coin $650 but negotiable.

Might Settle for $550, to flip quickly

Would not acquire (offer) for more than $400

I like quick turnover / nice margin. Opex fixed cost in the biz brutal especially considering current market conditions. Bourse room - It’s smash mouth ball out there.

    My price: $250-$400

    What I expect: $1250-$2000

*Just a little added bit of info:

I saw a late date Walker (1945) that was graded NGC MS 64 * for $5000 on a dealers website. I have a very comparable date Coin that looks much nicer (1945-D) in NGC MS 66 * and mine has a CAC sticker that the dealer’s coin lacks. I think I paid under $300 for that coin. Boy, does that make me feel good!

Pricing a toned Coin is very tricky and you MUST find the right buyer or, in my example, the guy at the end of the rainbow. 🌈 😉

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Anything hiding under that beautiful toning? Hard for me to tell in the photo but doesn’t appear real clean. Would have to rely on the pros and the sharper eyes.

It has great colors and could easily see it at 5-10 times guide. The great color market I have not figured out so would consign it to HA, GC or SB.

Before I do the full reveal, I will mention that two of those three venues were used.
Anyone care to guess which two and who had the highest result (both sales happened within the last year).

The right holder, pictures, and auction; these have gone crazy on GC.

Well that was one of the venues and one of the pictures in the original post. I’d call the GC result crazy indeed.

I remember one of these selling north of $5K on GC.

I think the coin is a little dark to get the huge money for it. That said, if I were a buyer I would pay $750 and I would hope to eventually sell it for $1,250. But of course your mileage may vary.

    Reveal:
This sold this past Sunday for a hint over $3k at GC with the buyer’s fee...same coin sold for 1,200 at HA just last year and 2,115 at Legend in 2016. So quite the spread over the years and venues!

I didn’t love the coin based on my interpretation of the photos and considered its price to be closer to the HA result (my thinking was 1,200-1,400).
