Please remove this, as you are confusing the thread.

    Good guesses so far ....

@Silverstacker: you can post a coin only after you have guessed correctly on the one already posted. In this case, that’s the 1841 G$10.

58+ It can't be MS and it is not a 55 and I already guessed 58 yesterday. I have a 61 1868 and they are just a little better.

We have a winner, exactly what you mentioned here, I thought of you when I saw the 58 yesterday, it was almost impossible to think "+" at first glance.

I'll say 40 on the 1841 Eagle... seems a little harsh but the AU grades and low MS grades I was considering were taken...

honestly, if I was guessing I would have said EF45 or AU50, just too much chatter and stuff going on here if based on the first pics, the reveal shows an AU indeed, but still I need to assume it looks much better in hand.
This one has a bean too.
If someone knows the owner I'd love to hear how it looks in hand.

Hmmm... that's weird. I didnt see the reveal before I guessed. I was initially in the AU55/58 camp, but I didn't see the "+" designation and I would have thought too much chatter for a bean... must look better in hand...

They grade these differently due to the crude strike. I will say 53. I do like how you can tell they were just learning. New country and just trying to get things done. I love these and I really do need to get one.

A Fugio Cent is on my list for the Box of 20... and I love these early copper coins for exactly the reasons you specify... The Mint when it was a fledgling cottage industry.

@lkenefic: no, I don’t think you missed anything. If you did, so did I.
It seems Dan’s Fugio is still up.
I think the latest coin would have been up but he didn’t post right away after he guessed correctly on the last one. That’s how I see this anyway.
Suggestion: there should be a time limit to post your coin after you make a correct guess. I think that’s why the Fugio was posted to begin with. If there is a time limit in the OP’s parameters, I’ll confess I don’t know how long that might be.
    Anyone know?

something like if nothing else is posted within 12 hrs (24hrs?, too long?), by the new poster to be, (winner of the latest gtg) than someone else should kick in.

We are still holding by the Fugio as far as I see...

  • PeakRaritiesPeakRarities Posts: 4,528 ✭✭✭✭✭

Doesn’t make a difference to me, I just threw a coin out when someone suggested it. I get busy sometimes too and I wouldn’t want to hold up the thread, I think 12 hrs would be a good limit?

But no correct guesses on the fugio yet. One is very close.

Hint: it’s a grade that requires a color designation

Technically, this would be a second guess on the same day, but AU58BN. If it happens to be correct, I’ll defer to the 1797 already posted by @pcgsregistrycollector.
