How do I report an unknown slab on eBay?

Since eBay does not allow off b]rand slab companies, i thought it would be easy to report one. I could not find the appropriate category in their drop down lists. I put this in my watchlist to report at another time and ten minuets later, he send me an offer! HAHA

NNC is well known, yes by showing or listing the grade this listing does violate ebay's rules. But considering the sheer amount of rubbish and obvious counterfeits that ebay ignores is there a reason you feel that ebay would take action on this listing?

I did not know NNC, is it really well known?

“Well known” is an ambiguous term, as it depends upon the particular audience. For example, some eBay participants know that various grading companies tend to grade extremely liberally and that the coins trade at a fraction of the price of NGC and PCGS coins. However, many other eBay bidders aren’t aware of how significant the differences in grading and values can be. And they sometimes buy coins, thinking they’re getting a bargain, but are actually burying themselves in their pirchases.

Yes I would say NNC is reasonably well known, if you do a search here you will see some threads about NNC. And an ebay search brings up 111 results, although some are not actually NNC slabbed coins. Some of those ebay listings are done correctly with the grade on the slab blocked out but many are just like the one you found. NNC has been around for a long time.

Edited to add; ebay does allow off brand or self slabber slabs to be sold. The restriction is that the seller is supposed to not mention and blur or block the grade on the slab in photos and descriptions.

NNC, like PCI will occasionally get it right. I have pulled coins from both of these holders and got them graded by our hosts equivalently.

It appears that he is aware of ebays policy. He has a few NNC slabs but put them under NGC & PCGS to skirt around their policy. IMO, ebay should let some of the smaller companies and old school holders like PCI to be allowed.

    eBay removed the listing.
