I'm not an expert numismatist and have never claimed to be one.

I am an expert at mocking people who repeatedly make inane, irrelevant, uninformed, or delusional comments.

Although no such expertise is needed here. You've been here a month, have added zero worthwhile commentary, and have taken it upon yourself to be the arbiter of taste for a forum that has been here for decades

    Go clutch your pearls elsewhere.

LOL, and for that confession, If I were a moderator, I'd give you a warning about how to treat those members who repeatedly make inane, irrelevant, uninformed, or delusional comments, and have added zero to the threads!

And you think you would survive long as a moderator on the internet with skin the thickness of rice paper?

I guess you're just preemptively trying to deflect criticism of your inevitable future inane, irrelevant, uninformed, and/or delusional comments. Good thinking.

Obviously, you don't have any ideal of the power a moderator has. They are humans with their own ideals and beliefs. No matter how hard they many try to be fair, they can do anything to anyone for any reason they choose and all we can do about it is gripe which may result in being banned ourselves.

For example, if you and several of your ilk reported me for posting on this thread, you and other long-time abusers of the ignorant could get me banned in a second for calling you out.

    Talk about delusional.

But you inadvertently make a good point with your randomly bolded comment. No one here is an abuser of the ignorant. We have zero tolerance for the antagonistic and willfully ignorant. Big difference.

Once you've been here longer than the lifespan of a housefly perhaps you'll understand. Or perhaps not.

Either way, you're not off to a great start.

I think he's kind of right. At the risk of repeating myself, there is simply no upside to mocking. I mean, maybe it amuses you. But for an actual troll, they don't care, they want any response. For an actual newbie, it just makes us look unwelcoming.

What separates a troll from the person mocking the alleged troll? Both are simply baiting each other. No education occurs. No behavior is changed. Both are simply patting themselves in the back for their alleged cleverness.

I mostly agree with you at the risk of contradicting myself. But then this is circular going back to my earlier posts which he either didn't read or comprehend.

But I do take offense at some random newbie with zero bona fides and a holier than thou attitude popping out of nowhere to attempt to admonish several of us (and not for the first time) and to defend some other run of the mill "I have an SMS no matter what anyone says" poster. It's absurd.

I agree about the attitude being a bit of a turn off, even though i basically agree with them. But no amount of back and forth is going to change it. We are who we are, for better or worse.

NO ONE IN THIS THREAD DEFENDED the OP who, with the help of other members here that RESPECT THIS FORUM and ALL OF ITS MEMBERS helped him to became convinced he does not have a SMS strike.

All during the thread the OP was a "class act" showing respect to those helping him in spite of the childish comments of others. You sir, are a self-confessed long-time member who "is here to" mock and cast dispersion on other members such as this random newbie poster who has zero bona fides and a holier than thou attitude.

Now, I'm done with this discussion and anyone else here offended by the facts.

Well, he doesn't have an SMS strike.

I tried to suggest kindness, but there's no changing anyone on a forum.
