If Ming was smart, he would bulk up now. He's to light to be able to use his size for a advantage(ala Shawn Bradley). He should put on atleast 40-60 pounds, probably more. O'neal is still the best in the NBA(at this point) even with Ming in. He plays against guys that are overrated, remember, zhi zhi was on the Chinese Team and was considered one of the best players. Look at him now. Houston's gonna get a big reality check when Ming doesn't perfom as expected. He is tall and has a tremendous shooting range for his position, but if plans on being "great" he better bulk up so he can work the post.

  • I agree yankfan. You don't draft a 7'5 center to shoot outside. A 7 footer does not belong on the outside. He belongs on the inside where he can use that height to make easy backets. Ming does need to bulk up and make his presence felt on the inside this year. This guy would be really scary should he gain ~50lbs in the next few years.
Looking for former University of Arizona NBA RC's in PSA or BGS 9's/GEM MINT grades. Die hard University of Arizona and Bay Area Sports fan.
  • he should do something similar to shaq... sign an endorsement deal with burger king... or mcdonalds... then watch him "bulk up" with all the fat foods...LMAO

boy that sure was the joke of the day image
  • i think the rockets had to choose ming beacuse they need a big man in their lineup. They had the advantage of the 1st pick, so Ming was not only the biggest, but he can shoot as well which is also very good for the team. Im sure the rockets will be devoted to bulking Ming up in the future....
Rest in peace Josh, we'll all miss you
  • Hey, you think Carter could jump over his head??

  • Not sure if he's 100% right now but I'm going to the Carter charity game in august so there will be a few jams for the fans.

Ming is just a big goof. I doubt he'll perform the way everyone is expecting. I'm surprised the guy even got drafted #1...that's crazy. He's going to be the next Gheorge Muresan! lol...Everyone remember him? Talk about someone who plain out SUCKED...that was an understatement for him. I believe Muresan was even worse than Manute Bol...Ming won't be any different...
  • being one of the biggest rockets fans around, here is a link to a post on my fav web site telling all about this:

By the way, I'd LOVE to see VC dunk over Ming! That would be incredible.

Hell, I still remember that dunk that VC did in the Olympics on that 7'3" dude! Greatest dunk I've ever seen!!! PERIOD! If he can dunk OVER (literally) that dude...what could 2 inches be to VC? image
  • All I want to see is Carter take it to the hole this season. He's almost 100% healed from his injury and from what I'm hearing he's going to make an appearance in the slam dunk competition (oh the vote in dunk competiton....ah....so nice) Just as long as they don't have that dumb wheel which pick's their dunks for them...that was a huge mistake...

  • ming could be a beast....if his footwork is nice.......george,manute,bradley,they were all goofy and clumsy...but watch ming will be a beast....if he hit the weights...he will even nicer
he is a nice shooter from what i have seen....but playing in the weak nba he has to stay out of foul trouble......thats what i hate about the nba....let the guys play shiit....detroit played back in the day(badboys....the best 5 a team could want)
