I saw an UNC Trade dollar last week...

Last week at my local shop, they had an MS63 1876-S Trade dollar in an NGC slab graded MS63.
It was blast white and flashy for sure... too white in my opinion, likely dipped but it was impressive to see the details and flash.
I was looking at the $1500 price tag and trying to decide if I could live with a pretty coin that shouldn't be so brand new looking.
I went home without it but just for fun started cruising websites and ebay looking for comps.
There's a lot of dogs out there and a lot of over-priced (in my opinion) examples to choose from.
Long story short, there were about 200 to choose from on ebay.
After looking at a bunch, I stumbled across this one at a fair price and hit the buy it now. I'm pretty happy with the look and immediately appreciated it more than I likely would have the far more expensive UNC MS63.

Love the look on that one! I, too, prefer ones that have been circulated. You know they were out there working 150 years ago.

Now you need to get one chopmarked!

That is very nice. It might always be worth near a third of the flashy white one you saw, but you can tell it worked in commerce and probably will never change in slab.

Honest wear and nice circ cam look, nice purchase!

DDR has it right though, if you're going to buy a circulated T$ it should be chopped ;) Here are some chopped circulated 76-S for you.

A chopped example is definitely on my list... I'd like to choose one after seeing it in person I think. So many are bent or otherwise smooshed on the reverse and I'd like a nice, clean example without a "damaged" appearance.
I missed a couple someone here offered on the BST a while back partly because I was temporarily broke. :D

Your "new" Trade Dollar has a great look, you made a good choice.

Beautiful original coin ... a purchase you'll never regret. Very nice dollar.

Great coin! I've had an uncirculated 1921 Peace Dollar for quite a while, and recently picked up a VF with great color because I loved the originality. They're different coins, and I enjoy both. I definitely like the look of that trade dollar... great details, color, and it definitely holds a lot of history.

If you're going to post a chopped 76-S, you post one that's really chopped
