What's interesting is that this coin came in an estate that was nothing but widgets and junk. The usual cheats and 90% with a few common date circ Morgan dollars. And this pattern, raw, that at some point circulated was also in there.

Sold on eBay in about 10 minutes. FWIW

That’s cool. Circulated proofs are interesting but worn patterns, more so. I would think it was more likely to be a pocket piece, rather than actually circulating. Also, if it sold in ten minutes, you probably left some money on the table.

Lol. Actually I thought I might be a little high. Closest comp was a PCGS 40 that Heritage sold for $1400 in 2022.

It may have been a pocket piece. I didn't mean to preclude that when i said "circulation".
