    Suspect for what?

It's worn with some minor damage.

It would help to see the whole coin.

Is this a close up of blue cheese or a nose after a severe bender? Not much to go on here.

    Not sure what it’s supposed to be, but I don’t think it’s a 1916.
    Altered 1946?

Look how deep the skirt lines are. A 1916 wouldn’t be that pronounced. There also appears to be remnants of the crossbar of a four.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Yes, the skirt lines, as well as the small size of the “6” relative to the “1”, makes me think this is a late date and probably 1946. I was inconclusive about the remnants of the “4”.

wouldnt that put the 4 too close to the 9 ? the date digits wouldnt be spaced far enough apart

Could we see the rest of the coin?

The second “1” is almost certainly spurious, regardless of the source. It appears to tower over the other digits, and is much larger than the first digit, when they should match.
