Stopped by a local shop to snoop. Found flat pack OGP 1962 sets, including five containing a RUN of Cameo halves. Bought them to add to the collection.
Fun collecting on a shoe string.

Sending them to our hosts?
Got pictures? Love cameo halves. Count me in on the great give away! Congratulations!
Photos attached.
Lucky guy! I’ve looked at a thousand 1957 thru ‘63 sets that had been bought by the original purchaser and found zero cameos.
The good stuff usually shows up in batches. It's easy to get discouraged because you start thinking everything has been cherrypicked and then you run into a nice original box of cherries or the stash of cherries someone accumulated.
Photos of the half dollars cut out of the cello.
wow, the 2-3 on the right look like they could DCAM ++++
The different appearances of the five half dollars are due to the lighting.
They all look the same in hand and IMO warrant a Cameo designation and grades of at least a 67. However if they were submitted for grading it would not surprise me to see our host not award any of the five coins a Cameo designation.
None of the coins warrant a DCAM designation.
Franklin Half Dollars from 1962 usually come pretty nice and contrast of some kind is typical. But you're right about these, they look to be Cameo at best.
