That's not an error, that is a one-off manufacturing defect. Only of value to people who like jalopy cards, but since it's MJ, a more valuable jalopy!

  • Any idea of it's rarity? Also where to go to sell it? I was going to send it away to get graded is it even worth getting graded?

PSA wont grade it due to it being a misprint.

Sell it on eBay. Start the listing at 99 cents. It's probably a 1/1 to 1/5

SGC will likely grade it as Authentic but won't have any additional notations on the card. If it's worth the $20 to get it in a holder, then that's likely the best route.

It's probably worth less than you think, if you are spending time surfing the net seeking a value. As mentioned, these are unusual, but somewhat regularly occurring defects that happened during printing runs and are also likely very limited, as most issues are corrected quickly and/or the affected cards pulled from production for QC reasons. Despite being "rare", most of these types of defects (wrong backs, miscuts, missing ink/foil, double printed images, etc) never garner much attention across the collecting world. Occasionally one will grab some headlines and take off like the Frank Thomas no name,

Being Jordan helps. Being in golf attire hurts in my opinion. Being Collectors choice also hurts. It's probably a $10-20 card at most to the right person, maybe more to a select few who would need to have it if they knew it existed. You'd have to see what a few fanatical Jordan collectors might think about it. That is the dilemma. Without hype, most people have no idea or interest.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
