This is a newp of mine that I do not yet have, nor have I seen it in person. I'm not an expert in the interpreting Trueviews but have read quite a bit from several on this topic! What would you expect it will look like in hand? I'm a toned Buff fanatic and found this one quite interesting! I appreciate any educated interpretations!! I will post images when I receive it.
I just rec'd the coin. She is a real Beauty in my opinion!!! These are untouched pics. I have limited skills so I did my best! The obverse is full of light greens and other pastel tones. No real yellow as the Trueview indicates. Mine were taken at a slight angle because I have a poor lighting setup! I am very happy with the coin in hand!!

I would suspect they tried to capture that pastel toning at the expense of the luster.
there's no way that's 24karat
That TrueView is horrific and is plagued by the “yellow disease” (wildly off color balance) that’s been an unfortunate feature of their photography for the past year or so. I expect the coin will look better in hand, namely much less yellow.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Strictly a guess on my part, but the extreme yellow tint seems way off.....Maybe something more subtle like this? Would love see your photo once you get it.
I would suspect they failed at both
I expect the coin to be less toned overall, and specifically far less golden or yellow than these images, while also being not so bright and having some light pink, lilac and mint within the fields.

Looks like a lovely example. Thinking that the pastel colors in hand, will be more vibrant than the overexposed yellow.
Agree - a lot of TVs in a certain timeframe were really strong on the yellow, which doesn't do any favors to anyone.
I sleuthed around a bit and there were 5 buffs in a row - and all had some degree of this same jaundice.

You're wise to use the word "interpretation" in the title here.
Having said all that, I will say that if you can live with the softness of the strike (and for all I know, they're all that soft for '13 type 1s) then I interpret this as very attractive with the pastels and, presumably, LESS yellow.

I would expect less gold and less color in general.

Terrible. Sorry. Just received my 8 coin submission and none have the ugly yellow coloring. Not saying they were the best pics, but fairly representative of the Capped Bust Half Dimes.

I would expect it to look like a 1913 Type 1 nickel with a little toning. I would also expect it to look better than the TV because it doesn't seem a priority to make TVs look good.
