My New CAC Storage Boxes Have Arrived

LuxorLuxor Posts: 482 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'll start by saying these things are huge! They will fit CAC, PCGS, NGC, PCI, ANACS and probably most other slabs. The new style PCGS holders fit very loosely and will rattle around quite a bit even with the top on, in fact, even the old NGC fatties and CAC slabs fit rather loose in the slots. I also noticed the CAC box is taller than the PCGS box and all of the various slabs will also have a loose fit vertically. The CAC box itself feels heavier, thicker and is definitely more bulky overall than the PCGS box. The lid also seems to fit a bit more snugly when secured. Since the CAC slabs will fit into NGC boxes I see no reason to stock up on these and only bought a couple out of curiousity. I will point out the shipping was super fast as I oredered on Wed night and they arrived Sat.

Thanks for the info, I ordered a couple to look them over from Whitman on EBay where they were a little off with no shipping charge. No plans for many more if they fit that loose.

I just finished "modifying" an NGC silver color storage box to fit the 9/13 PCGS Texas commems by the exacto knife method -- gently and carefully removing those little dual plastic ridges in the bottom of the slot for each PCGS spot, worked fine and now the set fits perfect, but it is all just 4 NGC and 9 PCGS that are stickered. I'd run out of those little add on plastic print PCGS box add on things that one of the guys made and shipped me.

I need a couple of these for my wheat Lincoln set that has a fair number of CAC slabs, being OCD I like to have them in year and mint order. ;)

But will they fit in a 5x10 SDB? It doesn't look like it will fit.

Are all coins graded by CACG shipped out in these boxes?

Warning: Do NOT put PCGS slabs in the center part of the box. It will become difficult to squeeze the bottom enough to free the top and the box will have turned into a safe.

From the email: Beginning 1/15/25, we will begin returning Express and higher tier submissions from Virginia Beach in these boxes.

And of course that leaves me out because I wasn't Express.

Can I be the first to say that I don’t like ‘em?
Just from a space wasted perspective. More volume/coin. Just sayin’

They should fit fine. Not six to a box, however.

Lengthwise, but not crosswise. I would have to rent another SDB with those boxes.

Correct. They are monsters. I was talking lengthwise

Not as high quality as any of the TPG boxes but these are almost the exact size of a PCGS box and work perfectly for PCGS, CACG, NGC, and ANACS (in their current sizes).

In addition to ICG, PCI, VSS and SEGS.

The CACG slabs are thicker, are you sure they fit? The NGC and PCI are taller than most PCGS slabs are you sure they fit?

There was a table at FUN that was giving them away during the show. I purchased one from a dealer friend who grabbed one before they were all gone( some attendees we're grabbing multiples)

I can't speak for PCI but otherwise, yes.
