Help with $100 Note Oddity

Hey all,

I am mostly a coin guy, so I know a minimal amount about currency. I got this $100 note from the bank earlier this week and noticed an oddity. It is a series of 6 digits (045870) in the border. They appear in reverse order. Looking at it through a loupe, it appears to be part of the paper design and they are not visible from the back side. So, my questions are is this an error? If so, what type? Any chance this was done outside the BEP process of printing currency? I posted four pictures below that hopefully will help.

Thanks in advance!

It looks like a random, post-BEP ink transfer and not a legitimate error.

Not an error of any kind. It happened after the bill was printed.
Considered damage but still worth $100.00.

Thanks guys. I figured as much, but wanted to verify before I spent it...which was my original intent when I got it from the bank.
