Is my Wheat Penny a actual striking defect / error

    Sort of yes, or no. 😵‍💫

    It looks like it's a lamination, which is a defect in the planchet, which technically isn't really a striking error.

    But yes, it's usually considered an error. :)

    The reverse of your coin shows a lamination which some collectors consider to be an "error". Your coin also appears to have been cleaned and has excessive small marks for the grade.

    It is unlikely to have much value over face value.

  • As for the cleaning I've never.. it's a circulated coin that being said i guess it could be pocket ware..
    Was inherited.. I truly appreciate any information given...

    The coin has a reverse lamination, which is cool even if not valuable. I don’t see it as cleaned. In my opinion, I think the lighting is very harsh and that is making the color look a little off and the surfaces appearing somewhat glossy.
