More Questions From a Currency Neophyte
I know very little about paper currency, having dealt almost exclusively in coins for many years. But: I recently bought a small collection of coins and currency. Besides the sole West Virginia NBN I've already posted about, there were several dozen Crisp Uncirculated Silver Certificates and FRNs of different series. I would appreciate you who are experienced to alert me if anything of value jumps out (which I frankly doubt). I'll be doing a show in a couple of months. Are these worth selling piecemeal (again I doubt that), or just wholesale the lot to a currency dealer? Thanks for any idea you can provide of retail or wholesale value. Thank you! Comments
The 1935A $1 SCs and the 1977A FRNs have some value above face, but nothing to write home about. The notes being consecutive add little to no value, mostly because that’s how they’re distributed. I’m a little surprised the collector you purchased the collection from didn’t have any replacement notes.
Just a couple of beat-up Star notes, well-worn. Thanks a lot Steve!
Giorgio, I have a beginners-to-intermediate collection of currency that I dabble in now-and-then.
Any plans to acquire some graded/certified bills from various Series ? HA has weekly auctions, you can check them out before getting active. You can pick up some nice moderns with unique SNs for $30-$75 a bill.
