Sounds like a good one to attend. I won't make it, maybe next time?
I do like the Geek videos on occasion, very informative tips for the novice that I am in many areas of numismatics.
    Like today's video for example...

I'll be at the Mesa Coin Club show the following weekend; this is a long running show that has historically been much larger than the Tuscon show. Plus I don't have to endure the four hours of driving to Tuscon as most if not all the same dealers will be at the Mesa show. The show is about five miles as the crow flies from Sky Harbor Airport, 20mins or less from gate to show doors.

I agree the Mesa coin club show is a great show. Supporting as many shows as you are able in Arizona can only benefit the hobby!
However the statement that “ historically “the show is much larger is difficult to say since this is its second year. I believe You might have this confused with the local Tucson coin club show which is much smaller by design because they only can accommodate 30 or so dealers.
@coinbuf with the quality collection you show on your signature line I would think a 4 hour drive to enjoy a coin trip would be well worth it! See for yourself what this new show has to offer. I was there last year and was very impressed with the scope and variety of dealers.

Hey Davy! Unfortunately, I will be stuck in Paris on business this year so I’ll miss the show. I’m hoping to catch up with Ben at Central States in April.

    Have a great time,

    Tim

If I end up in Maricopa/Phoenix that weekend 🤔 I'll make the drive over and check it out.
I was in Tucson last year and grabbed a flyer from the coin geek shop... Old Pueblo Coin.

You make some excellent points but there are some reasons why I won't be going. First as I said most of the dealers at the Tuscon show will likely be at the Mesa show. It's unfortunate that Ben chose to schedule his show so close to the Mesa show. I only have so much time and money so a choice must be made, in this case the convenience and lower fuel bill of a half hour round trip wins over the four hours.

Second, attending two shows back-to-back is not economically feasible for me at this point in my collecting journey. The last four years of inflation have kicked my but and has significantly curtailed the extra funds for coins. I have spent far less each of the last four years than during the years when I assembled the bulk of my collection. It more and more has me considering selling my collectable coins vs buying. The dealers are there to sell and I wouldn't be buying anyway so it seems unproductive to waste their and my time (and funds) just to tire kick.

I will be going to the Mesa show to support the local club, but I highly doubt that I will purchase any coins there either as I have no want list coins and am not focused on completing any sets or type. I hope that the show is a good one for you.

    That brings up a question.
Will someone from PCGS or NGC be at the Tucson show taking submissions?
Would I need to be a member to get a coin graded/Slabbed?
Looking to maybe get my avatar 200 REIS 1707 looked at.

@rte592 I do not know the answer to that question but I know the anacs rep will be there.

@coinbuf I too had financial stress that affected my collecting habits during the recession . I came to the conclusion that I can not afford to collect anymore . Well after realizing that I found that I really missed the coin world!! A lot! So the only way I can afford buying coins is if I became a partime dealer. I know now that I can participate in the coin world and buy the coins I enjoy. Personally there has become a great joy in meeting people and talking coins. Hopefully sell something also😀
When I sell I know I get to buy something else neat and have it in my collection ( inventory) for a month or two.
I truly understand what you have stated .

I think the host dealer(Ben), or other dealers will submit to the TPG's on your behalf for a fee?

Really looking forward to this show, I heard great things about it last year but was out of town, so this year I took the day off to fully enjoy!

Ben told me it should be almost double the size of last year. I'm also looking forward to it, had a good time last year.

Stay on the left bank and check out the renewed Notre Dame when you have time, you won’t recognize it bc they cleaned it up when they reconstructed………….

I really enjoyed attending last year's show! I was able to snap this picture of three of my favorite coin geeks and you can see what a great time they were having.

I’m hoping to be there on Saturday. At a 3hr drive it’s only slightly farther away from me than the El Paso show (which, unfortunately, usually conflicts with my kids’ basketball schedules).
If I don’t make Tucson this weekend I might get shut out of shows again this year.
Pray that my wife doesn’t make me attend a multi-family dinner that night in conjunction with my daughter’s homecoming dance (she’s not in the court, so I might be alright)
