1807 O-114 R-3, NGC VF-30 ON HOLD
A spectacular and boldly detailed example of the first year Capped Bust type. A highly original and crusty coin. The 1807 O-114 is a tough variety to achieve in any eye appealing grade. This example, on the other hand, is superior to those examples normally encountered. $925 ON HOLD
1818 O-108 Inverted Edge Lettering R-???, Raw
One of the Early Mint's biggest mistakes within the entire Capped Bust half dollar series. The edge lettering curiously reads FIFTY CENTS OR upright, and HALF A DOLLAR upside down! The edge lettering was applied by two bar dies, strips of metal that contain the edge characters, mounted in the Castaing edge lettering machine. Somehow, one of the dies was mounted upside down, impressing half of the edge design in the completely wrong direction. An impressive and entertaining mint blunder that is only seen on a select few examples from the O-108 die pairing. I could only confirm a small handful of examples to exist. $345
1818 O-115 Early Die State R-5, VF-35 Raw
The infamous O-115 die pairing that usually displays a substantial obverse die crack. However, without the die failure, as here, the issue is rare. Darker brown and olive hues blanket both sides of this pleasantly circulated example. A rubber band mark on the reverse is noted for accuracy. The start of the obverse die crack is barely visible under a glass. $525
1827 O-145 R-5, NGC XF Details--Cleaned
Nark in nature and presentable for the variety, despite the NGC qualifier. Price jumps significantly from one grade to the next. This tough variety would be an ideal coin for one looking to achieve a complete 1827 die variety set. $290
