The date and word "Liberty" look different on this nickel?

Ive compared it to other nickels of the same date and the color/shading around the date and word "libert

y makes it look as if shifted a bit to the left? I just hope the pics are good enough.

Almost appears as a double die, not quite certain.

I believe what you are seeing is from die deterioration giving a ghost image next to the word Liberty.

    Worth five cents.

  • Thank you all for the input. It is nice posting here because all the responses to my questions are pretty much in line with each other. Some of the other sites make it difficult to learn from due to the responses being all over the place and no one agreeing with anyone else.
